Workshops

During the summer months the CAC is host to several workshops, allowing artists time to learn new processes or get individualized attention. Workshops are open to all skill levels and no application or portfolio is required. Please register for your workshop early as most classes hold a maximum of 12 students.

All workshops are held for groups as well as private sessions. Our Instructors are also available for one on one sessions for an extra fee.

Limited accommodations are available for an extra charge at the CAC: $150 for 3 day class, $250 for week long class.

Artists already accepted for an Independent Studio residency receive a 20% discount on any workshop that occurs during their stay.

Summer 2008 Workshops

Printmaking

The CAC built one of the largest presses in the country and the only one readily available to artists. The Monster Press has a bed measuring 5 x 10 feet, with total pressure of 800,000 lbs. If you've never made a 4-by-8 foot print, here will be your opportunity to do so. There are also a number of smaller hydraulic presses, perfect for monotype printmaking, along with other techniques. The print facilities also include a Brandt etching press, and silk-screen equipment.

Peer-to- Peer Workshops

Throughout the season, local or visiting artists may propose a "peer-to-peer" workshop. These workshops are taught informally with general, rather than advanced, information. The structure is based more on the idea of information exchange than a Master/Student relationship. If you are interested in teaching a class please email or phone the CAC with your proposal.
